My New Flock

What's this bucket doing with a heat lamp above it sitting on our kitchen table for?

It's new additions to our flock! We've got 2 white muscovey ducks (V & G), an Americauna (Georgette), a Rhode Island Red (TBD), a Black Maran (Chicky Ray), and a White Leghorn (TBD)

Hi, I'm Aaron Wilkinson

I'm an urban farmer and a permaculturist, among other things. Permaculture by definition is permanent agriculture. Permaculture has different meanings to everyone, but we all practice it in one way or another. If you garden, practice energy efficiency, recycle, hunt, share your excess stuff with others, care about the earth, and a whole bunch of other things, you're using permaculture. To me permaculture is living my life the most sustainable way possible, impacting the earth and others as little as possible. I have a vision of everyone using permaculture to improve there everyday lives. My mission is to show you how. My home is a permaculture demonstration site. Permaculture is an easy way to solve most of the environmental and social problems of our planet. I'm not saying to quit using your SUV, or move to the wilderness and live off the grid. I'm asking you to have an open mind, and figure out how to use less, and work with nature to solve our problems. I live by four golden rules taught to me by my permaculture design course teacher Don Titmus. Be impeccable with your word. Always do your best. Don't take it personal. Never make assumptions.

This blog started as a garden blog, but permaculture is not just about gardening, it's about everything. So this blog is about permaculture and how I practice it.
